Why traditional pelvic floor advice
often misses the bigger picture
Pelvic floor symptoms are rarely just about one small muscle being “weak.”Your pelvic floor works together with your diaphragm, rib cage, nervous system, posture, breath, and core pressure system. When the whole system becomes more coordinated, symptoms begin to improve.Over the next 7 days, Susannah will guide you through a series of movement, breath, nervous system, fascia, and pelvic health investigations designed to help you better understand your body and what may be contributing to your symptoms.

Reduce downward pressure
Learn how to stop constantly bearing pressure down into the pelvic floor during exercise, lifting, coughing, running, and daily movement.

Reconnect your core system
Improve the coordination between your breath, diaphragm, abdominal wall, and pelvic floor so your body feels more supported and responsive.

Feel safer in movement again
Many women begin feeling less frightened of exercise, movement, lifting, and daily activity as confidence in their body starts to rebuild.
Over the next 7 days, you’ll begin becoming your body’s own investigator.
Begin with short, beginner-friendly videos and step-by-step guidance from Susannah as you start understanding what may really be driving your symptoms.Day 1: Pressure, breath & pelvic floor coordination
Learn why symptoms like heaviness, leaking, and instability are often connected to pressure and breathing mechanics.Day 2: Nervous system tension & stress responses
Discover how stress, clenching, and “fight or flight” patterns can overload the pelvic floor.Day 3: Breathing mechanics & downward pressure
Understand how your diaphragm and rib cage influence pressure into the pelvis during movement and exercise.Day 4: Posture, movement & pelvic floor symptoms
Explore how movement habits, foot pressure, and bracing patterns may be keeping symptoms stuck.Day 5: Tension patterns throughout the body
Learn why pelvic floor symptoms are rarely isolated to one small muscle or area.Day 6: Urgency, frequency & the brain-body connection
Understand how the nervous system can influence urgency, flare-ups, and pelvic floor symptoms.Day 7: Rebuilding confidence in movement

If kegels alone had worked, you probably wouldn't still be searching for answers

If kegels alone had worked, you probably wouldn't still be searching for answers
Many women inside the Movement for Pelvic Health community arrive feeling confused, frightened, and disconnected from their body.
They’ve already tried pelvic floor exercises.
They’ve been told to stop running.
To avoid lifting.
To squeeze harder.
To “just live with it.”
But pelvic floor symptoms are often far more complex than simple weakness.Your breath, posture, nervous system, rib cage mobility, movement strategies, and pressure management all influence how supported your body feels. This is why our approach focuses on helping the whole system become more coordinated, adaptable, and resilient again, instead of endlessly gripping and clenching.

I created Movement for Pelvic Health after my body stopped feeling safe
Before giving birth, I was running my own movement studio, working as a personal trainer, teaching yoga classes, and supporting my clients through one-to-one sessions. I was active every single day of the week, training in CrossFit and Ashtanga yoga, whilst also rehabilitating my own body from injuries sustained during my years as a professional dancer.
After the birth of my first child, my whole life changed. I was suddenly being told to stay away from the movement practices that had once brought me joy and had also formed the foundation of my career.
I was repeatedly told to “just do Kegels” and accept that this was simply part of being a woman after childbirth. That leaking, heaviness, fear around movement, and feeling disconnected from my body were just part of the female ageing process. But deep down, I knew there had to be more to recovery than fear, restriction, and being told to simply live with the symptoms.
So I spent the next decade studying pelvic health, breath mechanics, fascia, nervous system regulation, strength training, and hypopressives, searching for a way to help women feel strong, capable, and safe in their bodies again.
Today, I live symptom-free, and Movement for Pelvic Health was created to help other women stop feeling broken, frightened, or disconnected from their bodies too.
